Boiled Cake Recipe

Recipe makes 2 bread size loaves (4 size 3×9, 10 individual size)

Ingredients:
1 box raisins (15.5 oz)
2 cups granulated sugar
2 cups water
2 sticks margarine or butter
2 tsps cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
3 tsps baking soda
3 cups white flour

Directions:
Using a pot with deep sides, place raisins, water, butter, sugar, and spices in it
and bring it to a boil (just long enough to melt the butter)

Stir in backing soda, then let cook (1 hour minimum)

Stir in flour

To prepare pans: oil loaf size pans. If you line with foil, oil that too.

Bake in pre-heated oven at 350 degrees F for 50 minutes to an hour depending on your oven.
Check with a toothpick.

Place on racks to cool.
